Television Audiences OFCOM reported that two programmes produced in Northern Ireland – Line of Duty and Bloodlands – shown on BBC One, were the second and third most watched television programmes in Northern Ireland, pulling in more than half a million viewers each and exceeding the audience for any news programming2 . Large-Scale Movie Production Paramount’s Dungeons & Dragons, featuring Hugh Grant, Regé-Jean Page and Chris Pine, and Netflix’s The School for Good and Evil, featuring Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington, were produced out of Titanic Studios and Belfast Harbour Studios respectively during the year and also filmed on many locations including the Folk & Transport Museum, St Anne’s Cathedral, Tollymore Forest, The Mournes, Carrickfergus Castle, Ballintoy and the Clandeboye Estate.

The BBC has announced that hit Belfast-based drama Blue Lights produced by Two Cities Television will return for a second 6 x 60’ series. Directed by Gilles Bannier, co-created and written by Declan Lawn and Adam Patterson, co-created and co-produced by Louise Gallagher of Gallagher Films, and co-created and produced by Stephen Wright of Two Cities Television, with support from Northern Ireland Screen, Blue Lights launched on BBC One and BBC iPlayer last month to five-star reviews.
Filming on series two begins this summer in Belfast and further casting will be announced in due course.
BBC Studios will be the international distributor of both series one and two. Two Cities is part of the STV Studios family of production labels

The second Production Guild of Great Britain (PGGB) National and Regional Committees to launch was The PGGB Northern Ireland Committee, sponsored by Sargent-Disc (a Cast & Crew Company). It is chaired by Belfast-based freelance producer Amanda Black, who is currently producing Mammoth Screen’s upcoming second series of BBC One World War II drama World on Fire. Vice Chairs are: Paula Crickard, Head of Post-Production at Nu Boyana Studios and a producer whose feature film credits include Everton, Howards Way (2019) and BIFA-nominated Winter (2015); and emerging Production Accountant Michael Kilpatrick whose credits include Game of Thrones and upcoming Florian Zeller feature The Son starring Hugh Jackman and Anthony Hopkins.
